This ring is made from pure copper. Copper is the first metal known to be worked by humans by melting and casting, and its use for tools, weapons, and ornament during the Copper Age (c. 1850-1650 BCE) marked the transition from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age.
The Commissioner's name is inscribed in Rune staves of the Elder Furthark period. The ring has a tapered 10mm band, and the background pattern is rolling-mill textured with lace braid. Size 14 1/2. |
